The Optimist Optimax MK4 Spar Set is the stiffest and most powerful spar set in the Optimax line-up. It is much stiffer than the MKIII spars. It also has the cleat for the sprit halyard in a higher position for easier access.
- The MK4 mast is the stiffest and most powerful mast in the set, and is recommended for sailors 45kg and up.
- The MK4 45 mm boom is a stiffer racing boom which is suitable for the more experienced, heavier weight sailors. It is suitable for sailors above 45 kg
- The MK3 27 mm sprit is an all round sprit which can be used with all masts and booms. It is suitable for sailors from 35 to 45 kg.
