An ultra-lightweight nylon hook that won’t corrode or fail over time attaches to a spliced Dyneema loop that sits securely on top of the daggerboard head. This setup eliminates daggerboard creep while sailing upwind by applying maximum pressure vertically, rather than horizontally like a traditional bow attachment.
The lanyard connects to the shock cord and runs through the narrow space between the Cunningham and outhaul cleats when the board is down.
Over several years of active use, the shock cord may stretch, but the design makes it easy to replace or adjust with a shorter or longer length to suit your personal preference. The standard-length shock cord included in this kit is recommended and has been thoroughly tested.
