US One-Design is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at our Annapolis, Maryland location. As a specialty shop dedicated to one-design sailing, we're looking for someone who's excited to help customers find the right gear, support boat sales, and keep our shop running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in sailing to gain hands-on experience in the marine industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in-store, by phone, and via email with purchases of dinghy gear, parts, boats, and equipment
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and help customers find the right products for their needs
• Support boat sales and related customer inquiries
• Maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked shop environment
• Receive, unpack, organize, and help manage incoming inventory and shipments
• Prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery
• Provide general support for day-to-day shop operations
• Ability to work on weekends

 

Requirements

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work as part of a team
• Ability to lift and move gear and boxes as needed
• Interest in sailing or the marine industry is a plus
• Prior dinghy sailing experience is a plus but not required — we’re looking for responsible, hardworking people who are eager to learn

 

Bonus Skills

• Prior retail or customer service experience
• Familiarity with sailing gear and equipment
• Knowledge of one-design sailing classes
• Dinghy sailing or other small-boat experience
